Designers
One of the two great things that sets Spears apart from other furniture stores is Our Designers.
Spears Designers take their time and use their skills to assist you in making the right decisions. They undergo extensive training in product knowledge and the buying process. Spears Designers take a “Whole Room” approach to home furnishings, and are educated to ask the right questions. Spears Designers work with hundreds of customers a year, and quickly develop experience they can call on to help you. In addition, Spears believes in the value of “Sketching”. A picture is better than 10,000 words to describe your room, and we encourage you to know the approximate dimensions and layout of your room before you start shopping.
You are in control of the design process. The process the Spears Designer takes you through causes you to think about the big picture, and consider all the options. You make the decisions, with whatever degree of help you desire from your Spears Designer.
Spears provides extensive Free Design Services WITH PURCHASE. - Design Service is valuable, an absolute necessity - that‘s why Spears provides it. As noted above, Spears Designers use a Whole Room approach, and believe in Sketching for everyone. But if you need more extensive services like a home visit, floor planning, presentation, broad research, etc., you should be aware of the following:
- Spears charges $60 per hour for these services (plus a trip charge out of Lubbock County).
- These charges must be paid at the time the service is performed.
- When a purchase is made, you will be credited for design service charges up to 10% of the purchase price.
- Spears Designers can give you an estimate of the amount of time required for your project. Also, they will work efficiently to minimize the amount of time required. Because their services are pay-as-you-go, you will be aware of the charges in advance.
Independent Designers charge $75 - $100 per hour for these services. Plus, Spears has several advantages over Independents. They can’t get the same kind of prices Spears can (BUYING POWER). They have to contract out delivery services (SPEARS PERSONNEL). They work with a small handful of customers a year, while a Spears Designer works with hundreds (EXPERIENCE). You are strongly encouraged to discuss these procedures with your Spears Designer know before you begin this more involved process.
The furniture buying process is generally considered to be a THREE STEP Process, and Spears Designers are here to help you take these steps.
STEP ONE - Browsing - hunting for and gathering information.
Spears Designers will help you develop a Plan and explain your options. You can learn a lot about furniture in general that will help you during this phase of shopping.
STEP TWO - Considering - narrowing down product selection and retail stores.
By now, you probably know pretty well what you are interested in, and your Spears Designer can answer the questions that inevitably come up.
STEP THREE - Purchasing - Spears Designers help you get the right items at the right price. They track your orders right up to the delivery, and follow-up to make sure everything is all right after the delivery.
AND NOW, we’d like you to meet the Spears Designers who are so important to the Spears shopping experience. Some have been with us for many years, others are relatively new. The common denominator is that they care about you and will do their best to make you comfortable and make your home more comfortable.
